This Takes the Cake

01:26 pm - its been some time, eh?

Well, I decided that it was time to make a stop in to my lj. I don't know if anyone actually reads this anymore. Heck, I haven't yet checked my friends pages to see if anyone still updates their own pages anymore...

I might start posting here, too. Although, I'm not sure I can keep up with two journals.

School is very busy. I have 10 more papers to write (although one of them is only 500 words and so is really nothing). I have 5 books to read in their entirety so I can write critical reviews on them (included in my paper count). I have many, many other things to do. But I like it?

If any of you still read this, I hope you are well. :)

08:51 am - homework panic

Here's something funny. I thought I was two weeks behind in homework, but I'm actually three weeks behind. Isn't that the greatest? And my entire day is going to be wasted tomorrow for jr/sr banquet stuff and then the Soda Shop. When am I supposed to catch up??

10:59 am - The yearbook is the new boyfriend.

I got a write up last night from my RA. She left it on my door. Lets see... The place of incident was the "Yearbook office" and the time was "every night." The details are as follows: "Katie was walking with me back from the 'post' and confessed to numerous un-Christian like activities with her 'new boyfriend.' As a responsible RA & friend, I offer this accountability report to Katie to help her confess her sin & mend her ways." Amazing.

On Saturday, I am going into the city with some fellows from the jr/sr banquet decoration committee so we can go thrift store shopping for things we need. I hope we find stuff that will work. I really don't like going into the city, so we'll see how it goes. Its also just going to be me with 3 guys. It should be okay, though, since I'm friends with all of them.

I want to write a book about the beautiful imagery of Christ and the Church as used with marriage. I'm sure, however, that such books have already been written and that they are probably better than I could write. But I just wish that more people would understand submission and love in a marriage in that context.

07:44 pm - oh the things I have to do

The main body of the yearbook is done. Have I mentioned that? I feel so happy. Now to tackle my homework since I am about two weeks behind...

10:10 am - happiness is knowing...

I am meeting with my yearbook rep in about 20 minutes. I'll make sure to leave soon so that if she arrives early, I am ready, but I doubt that will be the case. Also, my proofs are online, for which I am excessively glad. Now I just have to go over them all...

I feel ready to start catching up with my work. I got a full nights sleep, and it felt wonderful.

04:27 pm - I want a break.

I spent all morning on sending the yearbook deadline. And then this afternoon I've hardly done any homework, which is suprising considering I am so far behind. I really ought to be motivated, but I just don't care. I'm sick of school and work and being behind and never catching up.

I can't wait for summer break. I need time off.

11:45 pm - a good quote

I have a great quote from the movie Natalie and I just watched: "I want to see if there's an us in you and me."

I should be in bed.

03:23 pm - Superbowl Sunday

I was up until 5am this morning finishing the yearbook deadline. Then I slept until 12:40pm, with a brief awake time from about 10-10:30am due to loud freshmen. It really annoys me how loud people are on Sunday mornings. Because even if I'm awake, I like to have some quiet time to prepare myself for the day. Its one of the few times I can have a relaxing morning. This is supposed to be my day of rest, but with all the noise, its hard to feel restful (this is now talking about the afternoons, too).

Today is the Superbowl and the Seahawks are playing. I think I will drop by our school's Superbowl Party to represent.

Natalie hasn't come up yet. She must be with Christopher.

08:25 am - Its Career Day!

We're picking up Jen B. from the airport today. Natalie and I have dressed up for Career Day. She's a gypsy and I'm a mechanic. Its pretty rockin' awesome. We're totally going to the airport dressed like this.

I'm so glad its Friday. But I'm going to be really busy all tonight and tomorrow with the yearbook. Oh well. Its life, I guess.

I need to finish getting ready, so I'll have to try to update later.

10:59 am - Saturdays are the new boyfriend.

Freshly laundered pjs and sheets make me inordinately happy.

I am going to research all day today until dinner time. Then I work tonight for the last time, and I get to train Natalie (she's taking over my shift).

I got 9 hours of sleep last night and it felt wonderful. I love being able to sleep in.

Well, I should probably go and be productive since I have a lot to do.

01:02 pm - Day of Prayer

It is the Day of Prayer today. Natalie and I are in my room, talking and sometimes doing some reading. Its our break time, when we're supposed to be praying. Oh well.

08:38 am - oh the freedom of me

Updates to my life: I have quit my job (well, put in notice), and I dropped my Apologetics class. This means I will have to take a distance ed class this summer, but it will be worth it to not want to kill myself all semester from being so busy. I decided that its okay to not be crazy-busy all the time.

11:34 am - Yearbook & Men

The deadline is completed. Thank goodness for that was an awful experience. On Tuesday, Natalie and I were in the office until 3:45am working on it--we would take turns putting mug shots on pages and huddling in front of the space heater. We only slept in until 7:30am since we had an 8am class. Then on Wednesday, we worked on it between all of our classes and until 4:30am. Well, that's not quite true. At 3:30am we began the process of sending the last 3 files (it takes about 30-60 minutes for a large file, as these were). But since the night before we had only gotten 3 hours of sleep, we were pretty tired. So we thought we'd just set the timer on the microwave in the Student Lounge and sleep on the couches for 30 minutes. Well, we missed it and Natalie woke up at 4:30am (thank goodness or else I am sure I would have slept until someeone came in and asked what I was doing). That's when we cleaned up the office and went home. I slept from 5am-11am. Now only one more big deadline and it should be "easy street" from here on out. ha ha ha ha ha

I have discovered how to find the perfect man. All you have to do is take 3-4 other men and combine their best (and your favourite) qualities. Ta da, the perfect man; one for the price of four.

06:56 pm - a thought

I think we all, who are still single, should remain single and make a pact. Yes, a pact to remain single forever and dedicate our lives to doing good. (Because obviously no good can come from being in a relationship.) Any takers?

07:25 am - fatness

I need to lose weight. My goal is 15 lbs this semester. It is totally do-able, providing I keep motivated. I'm planning on exercizing twice a week at 6am, on Wednesday & Friday. I figure since I get up then for ministry on Tuesday & Thursdays, my body should be able to handle this. However, this does mean that I have to get in bed at a reasonable time this semester. But if I ever want to be svelte, this will have to be how it is.

03:08 pm - Back at school

I got in yesterday at 6pm. Today I paid the school for this semester. Ugh. That is never a fun experience; just another reminder of how much more in debt I am. Nevertheless, I am glad to be back.

My year of decaf coffee has gotten off to a good start. Other than needing more sleep (ie feeling more tired than normal), I haven't missed it at all.

The school is using new soap in the bathrooms and I think I might be allergic to it. I think its giving me headaches, which is what happens when I'm sensitive to a scent (which is also why I usually only use unscented lotions, etc). I have a hard time finding stuff I'm not sensitive to.

I haven't done that much today. I feel like I should, but then, its my last day of semi-guilt free laziness before the semester begins. There will be no rest for me after tomorrow.

12:41 pm - now that I have things to do, I don't want to

Yes, I have all my books, thank goodness. But I've only read one of them... I know I need to apply myself and get some reading out of the way, but my motivation is in severe lack.

I need to lose some serious weight this semester. Which means I've got to get serious about exercizing and eating healthy. I can do it. I really can.

I go back to school on Sunday.

Time to go upstairs and do something productive. Like clean the bathroom. And then read some theology.
